Edward G. Mackay, MD, FACS, RPVI, RVT

Dr. Edward Mackay is a Florida native who earned his medical degree from the University of Florida Medical School. Dr. Mackay completed a General Surgery residency and a Vascular Surgery fellowship at The University of Tennessee Medical Center. He is board certified in General and Vascular Surgery, and a Diplomat of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.

Marissa Tufariello PA-C, RVT

Marissa is a Long Island, New York, native. She received her Bachelors of Science degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Touro College School of Health Sciences in New York. She received her NCCPA Physician Assistant Board Certification in 2003. Marissa is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. She is experienced with vascular ultrasound for diagnosis and intervention and received her Board Certification as an RVT (Registered Vascular Technician) in 2014. She is a member of the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

Since graduating as a Physician Assistant in 2003, Marissa has worked in Vascular and Thoracic Surgery. She worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital! Columbia University on the Lung Transplant team until 2007. At that point, Marissa joined a General and Vascular Surgery Group where she was trained in the latest procedures for Venous Disease. She is an expert in Varicose and Spider Vein Sclerotherapy, Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy, Stab Avulsion Micro-Phlebectomy, Varithena Microfoam Ablation, and Wound Care. Marissa plans to continue to excel in the treatment of Vein Disease by utilizing state-of-the-art technology with Dr. Mackay.

Marissa underwent extensive training in Natural Hormone Optimization and Medical Weight Loss. In 2016 she became a certified Biote Provider trained in placement of hormone pellets and treatment of hormone imbalance. She is a provider for Vivaliti Medical Weight loss.

Lastly, Marissa is trained in cosmetic medicine. She is experienced using neuromodulators - Botox and Xeomin and trained in Hand and Facial Fillers using products including Juvederm Ultra Plus, Juvederm Ultra, Radiesse, Voluma, and Belotero.


Bethany Berghoffer PA-C

Bethany, a native of northern Virginia, received her Bachelors of Science degree from Jefferson College of Health Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2003. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is a fellow of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.

Since graduating as a Physician Assistant in 2003, Bethany worked in Emergency Medicine and eventually joined our practice in 2010. She has trained under Dr. Mackay’s guidance to perform Varicose and Spider Vein Sclerotherapy, Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy and Stab Avulsion Micro-Phlebectomy. Bethany also provides Facial Injectable and Filler Cosmetic Services such as BOTOX® and Juvederm®. In addition, she offers treatment for brown spots and facial veins with IPL (Intense Pulsed Light). Trained in Medical Weight Loss, Hormone Therapy, Hormone Optimization and certified in 2016 as Biote Providers.


Christie Little NP

Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s in Nursing Degree from The University of Tampa and well-rounded educational clinical experience including, Family practice, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Gynecology, and Gerontology.

Additionally, Christie has 7 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Skilled in Nursing, coronary care, critical care, medical-surgical, and oncology.

Jill Lane LPN/RPhS

Jill Lane is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), specializing in venous disease. A Pennsylvania native, Jill obtained her LPN certification from the Altoona Area Vocational-Technical School of Nursing and then continued her education at Mount Aloysius College.

Jill has practiced in a variety of settings, including 8 years as an Operating Room nurse and 4 years in the Gastroenterology field. Her desire to provide personalized patient service brought her to join Dr. Mackay’s practice in March of 2000 as his surgical assistant and nurse. For over 15 years, Jill and Dr. Mackay have worked together as a team, treating patients with the utmost personalized service and state-of-the-art technical venous care in the Tampa Bay area. As an LPN in his practice, Jill assists Dr. Mackay with all procedures related to venous disease.

Jill received her certification as a Registered Phlebology Sonographer on May 6, 2017.


Stacy Rice RDMS (AB), RVT, Technical Director

Stacy, a Florida native, is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). She received her Associates of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from Central Florida Institute, graduating with honors.

With over eight years’ experience in peripheral vascular testing, abdominal, OB/GYN, echo and small parts ultrasound exams, Stacy has gained her experience working locally for HCA and BayCare hospitals. Stacy has been with our practice since May 2013. In February 2016, Stacy was promoted to Technical Director.


Reese Beck, Lead Medical Assistant

Reese has worked with our practice as the Lead Medical Assistant for 6 years. She has helped us transform our clinic and surgical program to what it is today. She lends a hand wherever needed and is a critical part of our day to day clinic operations. Reese is a Michigan native but relocated to Florida many years ago with her family. Reese and her children enjoy riding bikes and taking long hikes along Florida’s Pinellas trail.


Kim Numann, CMA

Kimberly is one of our four Certified Medical Assistants. She has worked with our practice since 2014. She interned with us while she attended college and has been with us ever since. Kim has a terrific work ethic and is always willing to jump in to help her fellow employees.  She lived in New York as a child and now calls Florida her home with her young son. Kimberly enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and friends.


Adam Portilla, Medical Assistant

Adam has worked for our practice since 2018. He is originally from New York but made his way down to sunny Florida with his family many years ago. He was hired as an addition to our Medical Assistant staff for our Largo office. His desire to help others has made him an integral part of our clinic. He comes to us as a trained EMT and displays the willingness to learn more about our specialty. In Adam’s free time, he engages in competitive video games, spending time with his girlfriend and playing with his cats.
