Dr. Mackay is one of the country’s leading specialists in the treatment of venous disease. A native of Florida, Dr. Mackay has practiced vascular surgery in the Tampa Bay area since 1993. As a highly regarded physician and leader in phlebology, he successfully treats varicose and spider veins with a combination of minimally invasive and micro-surgical procedures, including sclerotherapy, micro-incisional phlebectomy and endovenous therapies.
One to continuously evaluate emerging technologies, Dr. Mackay was the first physician in Florida to offer R.F. Closure®, followed shortly with Endovenous Laser Treatment.
Dr. Mackay has been the guest speaker at numerous events and provides training in vein treatment procedures to physicians throughout the U.S. and internationally. He has been co-director of the International Vein Congress (IVC), held annually in Miami, Florida for five years running. The IVC is attended by over 500 national and international physicians from all over the world who observe cases performed by Dr. Mackay and Jose Almeida.
