Typically, when warranted, the larger veins are addressed first. Some larger, deeper veins may require the use of Ultrasound guidance with injection of a foam solution alternative. The use of Ultrasound guidance will allow the doctor precise visualization for injecting those veins that you cannot see on the surface. Utilizing a foam solution for injecting larger veins has shown to have greater effectiveness for closure and long term results. Following treatment for any larger, deeper veins, the provider can proceed with the smaller, more superficial spider veins. After sclerotherapy, the body will naturally absorb the unsightly veins which have been shut down, improving circulation as well as the appearance of your legs.
For those patients always on-the-go, sclerotherapy is great option as they can return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. Click thumbnails to view full sized images: |
